Foot switch to control Qu-Control app?

Hi. I’m the sound engineer, our singer has been using the app Qu-control to switch the effects on & off. He wants to go hands free and use a Bluetooth foot switch.
My question is would a pedal do this? Or would it just keep turning the pages and not switch the mute button on and off?
There are a lot of pedals out there and I don’t want to waste money trying to find one that’ll do what we need it to do.
Has anyone gone down this road and had success?
