It would be great for the mix select buttons to flash when selected so to remind the operator that they are editing a mix rather than the LR mix

We find the majority of errors has to do with a mix option being selected on a layer and forgotten. This could be a “Clear Mix Selection” Sofkey assignment- where the softkey will flash while the mix is selected and depressing the button would clear like the PAFL “Clear”. A more extreme option may be a blue “ring” around the screens to denote an active mix selection.

Yes, good idea. Anything flashing to indicate ‘mix mode’ would be great. Flashing integrated LED illumination for the overworked tired touring engineer as an option would be helpful.

guys, the clear mix button would be a redundant button since the Main Mix Key is a clear… 😉

What if the scribble strips inverted?

please add some option how the operator can see that the desk is set to another mix than LR.

Maybe in the setup to choose between
    -Channel Displays flashing
    -Channel Displays invert
    -Warning in the main display
-Flashing / Glowing of the top LED bar
    – other ideas

Working with lay people like in our church need such options

    are you really serious?
You complain about a light that is not flashing?
if you select a mix, the corresponding button lights blue
and since the SQ has fixed buttons there is no need for flashing or other gimmicks

to make things blink will not save from ignoring it

The only proper solution would be that all LEDs, which are now static on, are flashing fast (150-200ms frequency), the main display changes to a more red style and also starts to blink. Probably a high pitch tone on the head phone should also be provided. For newer build models a shaker should be implemented so that the whole console can rumble during the phase where not the main mix is selected.
And even then some operator will fail, because they do not have the right skills and training.

Shucks – V1.5 does include a ‘currently selected mix’ tab on-screen, but reading through your ideas here, I fear we may have fallen short…
