Hmm, my expierience is that the „behind closed door“ policy will raise the expectation of the customer far more than a list of possible features. And that higher expectations will result infar more disappointment than the other way around.
I am part of a software development team, which is working on a product since almost twenty years. Some years ago we started to communicate our development plans open minded with our customer and that was a huge success for us. Our relationship with our customers is better than before because they are now somehow team members. So, believe me, I know what I am talking about.
