I have here such an idea
it is about monitor situations with many ways, but it can be also helpful for monitormix from FOH.
situation:
a short feedback sometimes arises somewhere. but even before you can recognise where it could have been, it is away again.
such situations can make you nervous.
my idea:
if there was in the mixingdesk a routine which can recognise of feedback – and points on which monitor-way and on which channel the feedback has begun, this would be a very good solution for the engineer.
remark: no automatic feedback reducer, only one recognition of the origin of the feedback!
I know, this is no simple job!
but it could be a very good sales argument.
after a few years i would like to ask whether such an idea would also interest other users. 😉
sounds simple enough to do to me.
what it takes is the will to actually do it.
that would be controlled by demand from customers and potential customers.
i would add a vote here. Adding to this a feedback eliminator insert could be useful for some situations as well…
