Extension USB cable – QU32

Hi guys, i’m looking foward to use QU32 as an audio interface in my mac to mix in a DAW and sending to another source.

What i’m strugling with is that a need a USB cable of 15 meters (50 ft) at least to connect the QU to the computer. The solution that i’m studying is to use a Extension USB Cable for the connection. Any of you have already used extension usb cables? Is there any lost of data?

From what you describe this is a usb/mac issue not a Qu.

Check the usb standards group to learn about usb and what you can do with it.
Of course you could lose data.
It all depends!
What speed do you need on the cable from all channels?
How many channels from the Qu?

You really do need to put the mac near the Qu32 not 50feet away.

Do you really need to forward the signal from the mac to another sink?
Use a CD for that.
Or did you mean to receive another signal into the mac from a source?
That is a mac problem.

The QU always supplies 32 USB channels
I have used a 10 metre USB 2 cable with an amplier in the middle with QU32.
Seemed to work fine for my setup QU32>iMac 2011 model in Reaper and also from Zed10 into Ipad Pro into app called Filmic Pro however that was just 2 USB channels.
If its for capturing I would recommend slowing the latency on the mac

Actually I used a USB A shape cable direct out of the QU32 into USB of the iMac
StarTech USB2HAB30AC Active USB2.0 A to B Cable – M/M – 10m/ 30ft

you use the A connector out of the Qu?
Would that be from the Qu drive port on the top?
Only 18+LR channels.

Where does the B connector go to a pc/mac?
Usually they go to things like printers.
I never had a pc with a b connector on it.

Why not use the B connector out on the Qu.
32 channels to a PC with the A or perhaps C connector.

That’s exactly what i’m wondering to do, but with a cable of 20m. I’m going to test it out and if it work i share with you all here.

Thanks for your reply. Actually there is no problem with my mac connection or with QU connection. My question is all about the usb cable extension. As @xyz said, a 10m active cable works, and i’m going to test a 20m cable.
