To put the thoughts of many contributions from other discussions in the right place here. I would like the Rack Ultra FX card for the Avantis too. From everything I have heard, there is a corresponding slot on the mainboard. In this price range, the Avant also urgently needs the upgrade to keep up with the competition. The range of functions should not be reduced compared to the D-Live card. Reducing the number of slots would limit the useful use too much. I really hope that my thoughts are already part of Allen & Heath’s strategy and that we don’t have to wait too long for it.
+1
I really hope A&H is working on bringing the expansion card to the Avantis. That being said, I also hope they don’t try to reduce the FX capacity of the Avantis card (because the Avantis has fewer inputs). Eight additional FX slots is NOT too much for the Avantis. I would easily use all 8 slots with vocal correction and reverbs alone. Trying to bring a 4 or 6 FX card would really be a disappointment. I would purchase an 8 FX slot card immediately, but honestly think I would pass if the card had fewer slots.
I agree with you there. I also think that for technical reasons it will not be possible to use the Ultra FX effect in the standard slots. Because of the autotune function alone, four Ultra FX slots would not be enough to accommodate the magnificent reverb.
