Apologies if this has already been discussed, I can’t find a definitive answer.

We have a 6 way RG6 multi we use for SDI from FOH to stage. Does anyone any experience of using the dSnake or DX stage boxes over RG6 with an SQ5? It would save us running an extra cable just for the stage box.

Is dSnake not 100base-TX so if the converters are 100base-TX will it not work? There doesn’t seem to be an issue with bandwidth…

    1000base-TX
    GBit network

128 channel audio 24bit/96kHz in each direction with control data

the DX could work but one DX link is only 32/32 channels audio and requires 100Mbit

my fault… I was reffering to the GigaACE
    not the dSnake

    dSnake is 100Mbit

but the SQ uses SLink as well that is GBit 64/64 channels

So in theory a converter that supports 1000base-T should work?

    Hi Stuart,
I like your idea but I have no possibility to check it.

If you’ve a look here it should work:

    Let us know!
    Thanks!

Thanks for you help. I have ordered the converters to give it a try. Will let you know if it works

If the converters work like the ethernet to Optical, it could perhaps be possible.

Looking forward to hear your results.
