Hello everyone. I’m a new user with a recently bought SQ5.
When I’m connecting the microphone in Inp1, no effects, is sound fine. When I’m adding effects (Hall on FX1 and Delay on FX2), my voice sounds like I have a second voice, like my voice is doubled. I’m closing the effects, and the feeling is the same. I have the feeling that the delay or Hall is repeating the first sound together with my microphone. Maybe someone has the same situation or know what should I check. Thank you in advance for the answers.

    Hello,

I’m sorry for asking many questions.

    > I’m a new user with a recently bought SQ5.
    Congratulation!
But it’s not your first contact with a digital console?

    > When I’m adding effects (Hall on FX1 and Delay on FX2)
    How did you add them?
Both via FX-buses with separate FX sends and returns?
Or did you try also via Insert?

    > my voice sounds like I have a second voice, like my voice is doubled.
But that’s what you expected, or not?

    > I’m closing the effects
    How did you close them?

    > and the feeling is the same.
You mean it’s like the faders on both FX-busses don’t do anything?

    > I have the feeling that the delay or Hall is repeating the first sound together with my microphone.
You could set exacly that in a delay.
Maybe you should try different delay presets.
    Always the same?

Thank you so much for your answer.
With a digital console was first time, but I’m familiar with ProTools and Studio ONe.
I was adding them on the F-buses, with separate FX sends and return.
I have doubler on the FX-4, and now its sound good. I can give doubler effect just sometimes, when it’s necessary.
I was muting the buses, and/or closed the faders.

I played today with the settings, and added add-ons, and I think I finally got the expected result. I reset the mixer, and started from the beginning everything. Now its much better. I don’t know what was the problem before. Thank you for your time and answer.

That would have been the next I would have recommended.

    > Now its much better.
It should not only be much better, but the way it should be. 🙂

Have a nice time with your SQ.
