    Hello there.

DM64 rack with 2 DX32 (all with inputs). A 128 input system. When you have a FOH / Mon application, could you have first 64 for Mon and the last 64 for FOH without having to use gain tracking? Could you have both surfaces controlling an analogue gain?

What would be the configuration for gigaACE card?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ludwig,
Are you using an analogue splitter before the preamp? If so, yes, each Surface can have preamp gain control of its own channels.
If the 64 channels are split internally (sharing the same preamp socket), then you can still have the two Surfaces both controlling the same preamp, but any gain change made at FoH will affect signals at Mon, and vice-versa. That’s where gain tracking becomes useful.

    Thanks Nic.

And how do you have to set the gigaACE cards and the patching for having that?

Consider the 128 inputs (analog splitter).

    Thanks

    no softpatching needed
you only have to use the desired channels on either Surface

@Steffen_R So I just have to set gigaACE card to “switch” otpion and patch normally in console #2. Both consoles will have analog gain.

It would be nice if “Trim/gain on surface” would affect the particular surface, not both.
Also in dual surface situation automatic patch 1-64 for channels 1-64 and 65-128 would be handy as well as duplicating the channel names. Also Virtual soundcheck window should adapt to this scenario.

    Hello,

    I have a question about I/O with multi-surface applications.

Are local inputs and surface DX inputs for a surface available on the whole system for access from all surfaces?

    Cheers
    Steve
