Dlive Director Custom Template from MixRack for Splits

Hi, I’m trying to help a friend in setting up FoH/Broadcast setup using DLive S7000 and its MixRack. We would like to have channel split at 48+48 channel for FoH and Broadcast with independent processing for each. Currently we have succcesfully split the signal to 2 input processing each. The problem is that he plan to use DLive Director and having custom layer that differ from the surface. How can we approach this (having custom surface layer when he grab from MixRack)?

you have to connect it to the mixrack only
that means in the sync part you have to select only the mixrack
then it should start as a new “surface”

Hi, is it possible that the custom strip assignment is to be stored in MixRack? What we found is that when we pull from MixRack the strip assignment is loss.

How do you connect with the mixrack?

Basically we would connect the management port from the MixRack to our control network. On a separate room (Floor 10) we would like to access Director directly to Mixrack to control from that room. We split our input to have different processing with FoH and Floor 10 room which we plan to connect thru Dante network (channel 1-64 to Main and channel 65-128 to Mix6).
On Director we can pull setting either from MixRack or from Surface. We would prefer not to disturb the strip assignment of the Surface, so we would like to have a custom strip assignment for our Director. How could we have this Custom Strip Assingment stored in MixRack so everytime someone pull data from MixRack it contain different Strip Assignment from the Surfaces? Thank you very much.

PS: Additionally, we would also connect SQ thru Dante network, is it possible to have Gain Tracking between DLive and SQ thru Dante? Or both require GigaAce/SLink connected? Thanks

first, there is no gain tracking between SQ and dLive possible, at least at the moment

your Director instance is acting like an extra surface. So you have to define a different role for it and for your surface.

This should answer all your questions and gives you a guide for setting up.

Hi thanks for the reply, I checked on that and might need to read more in regards to surfaces roles. I will try to set a different roles for the Director.
