CDM48/C3500 running 1.97, 1 Wifi router connected at mixrack

When I change layers, my faders do not return to their previous positions which is quite troublesome in the middle of an event. I have changed cat cables with varying results, At one point I was sure it was the cable, but it started doing it again on the “good” cable. The ipad app will not allow me to move any of those bad faders.

Looking back since unpacking the console three years ago, I did not have this problem until I updated to 1.97 and simultaneously installed a dante 128×128 card in the console.

Attached video shows what happens during fader calibration.

Is there anybody else experiencing this and found a solution? Please reply if so. Thanks

    Replace the faders?

Yes, replacing the faders will probably fix it.

Sometimes I have gotten sticky faders to work again (for at least a little bit of time) by physically moving them and then running the calibration again. Sometimes it takes several calibration runs. No guarantees.

Thanks for the fast replies. Thats a real bummer to hear.

We just got it 3 years ago and stuck it in a flip case.

Hopefully A&H is looking at a point of failure. This seems a little too early to me for faders to be failing. I get it, there is a limited lifespan on everything. This is the earliest I’ve had to replace a fader on any of our consoles. Not mentioning other mfgs.

There was an announcement that the warranty had been extended on faders, I think it was up to 3 years from the original 1 year. If you have had it not quite 3 years you might want to look into that.

Greatly appreciated. I’ve started the service process. Thanks very much.
