I am not able to get a QU-24 to recognize an AB168 when connected via the D-Snake ports using UTP CAT6 cable.

The recommended cable is STP but I don’t have that to work with. The run of the UTP is about 150′ and was recently installed, and Ethercon connectors added to both ends. The “ready” light on the AB168 does not illuminate, and the D-Snake setup on the QU-24 indicates “not connected. The QU-24 will recognize the AB168 if connected using a pre-made 10′ UTP CAT6 cable.

Is the unshielded cable the most likely cause of the D-Snake failure? If so, is there a way to make this connection work using the unshielded cable? Are there other cable characteristics that would cause this issue?

    Thank you for advise.

Have you double checked the terminations/connectors on each end of the cable?
Do you have a cable verifier to test the cable with?

I bet there is something wrong in the connections.

What happens if you connect two GBit switches?
