Hi there,
I’m a new CQ18t user and it seems to be a great little unit for what i need – 5 piece pub covers band with pretty basic mixing needs.Something that would be really useful for me (and I think some others) would be the ability to run the CQ MixPad app in portrait rather than landscape mode on an ipad, & the ability to quickly change back and forwards (as per apps that aren’t locked to either portrait or landscape)
I mix from stage and also use my ipad for song charts etc. I need those charts in portrait so it would be really useful to be able to use MixPad that way too. I’ll use MixPad in landscape during sound check etc, but it would be really useful to have a portrait option (with a smaller screen view) for the odd urgent mixing duty during songs.
Thanks for a great little unit though!

If you open another app and view that you will be disconnected from the Mix app, this is something that does need addressing.
You could try the Mixing Station app as that will operate in portrait mode. 🙂

Do you know if Mixing Station automatically reconnects in the same way something like X Air does so you can at least move from Mix App to another App without having to manually reconnect?2024/02/13 at 12:39 pm #119420Lee7ParticipantI cannot remember off the top of my head. If I get chance later after I have serviced my car I will setup my CQ and find out for you.
Cheers

It has a whole lot of options that are way more than I need, but I think I’ll be able to cut a Mixing Station view right down to what I want for quick stage changes, and then use the actual mixer for set up etc. (and over time I’ll get used to the MS app more as I play with it more)
Thanks again 🙂

The MS app is far more customisable than the native app, however, some features have not yet been added to the MS app.
Like you say, you can design a setup to suit your own personal needs.
Have fun! 🙂

2024/03/30 at 4:45 pm #120947PappatrubadurParticipantPortrait option +1 and as well +1 on the disconnecting as soon as you leave the app.
I am as well my own engineer and mixing from stage on the same iPad as I use for texts during performance, sometimes mix needs adjustment and would be really good to easier access the interface without having to reconnect.2024/04/01 at 12:32 pm #120987ChienmortParticipant+1
2024/04/02 at 8:58 pm #121020TheAngryPenguinParticipantTotally agree. I am a performing mix engineer as well, and I surely to miss being able to control my monitor mix without having to switch to another app as one can do with the embedded web server that Sonundcraft uses in their digital mixers.
