Am I missing a way to label recordings made on my SQ with, perhaps, just the date? Rotating HDDs through my latest multi-day project means that I have lots of folders labeled SQ-MT001 with no date or time stamp on the files due to the SQ having no internal clock. It means that when I go to look for files recorded on a certain date, I need to rely on notes that may or may not have been taken accurately.

Anyone have a fix for this or is it as simple as white board tape and a sharpie on the HHD enclosure?

This problem has been discussed many times here in the forum and there are many requests to change it with a firmware update.
But as far as I know, unfortunately at the moment: No.
There is currently no other way to do this (without a computer) than to label a tape case like in the old days.

The issue is that there’s no real time clock in the SQ. It doesn’t know what the date is.

I find it much simpler and more reliable to go USB into a laptop, straight into my DAW. I can label tracks, songs if I have time, and there’s no transfer needed later.

Yes, all true. I have been double recording into Reaper on a MBP via Dante and find that it is my delivery now, relegating the SQ recording to backup, all the while carefully labelling the SQ recording disks.

Maybe a track of LTC with user bits would work but what a PITA.
