Hi, For my sins I come from the Behinger Wing eco-system and recently have had to start working more with A&H as many my students now do part-time work in venues with A&H kit. I was wondering if it is possible to network a CQ-20b to a SQ6 desk so the CQ can be used as a “kinda” stage box for an SQ6 board – The use case would be radio mics being connected to the CQ-20b making use of the gain controls – I realise I could just send a stereo mix or aux-outs upto the SQ 6 through the existing Stage box but was wondering if there was a more sophisticated method via the network port so more control was available. In a similar way I can slave an X32 to my Behinger Wing.

    Thanks for your input.

At the moment, there is no ability to use the CQ as a stage box and we’re being told it’s technically not possible due to the design. Since the CQ can support MIDI, I suspect we’ll eventually see some ways to control the CQ in different manners whether that’s some sort of hardware controller, mixing station. slave of another A&H board, or so on but will be no way to distribute multi-channel audio from the CQ to something else (Waves, Dante, S-Link, MADI, etc). Just not the use case of this system.

I love A&H but it’s pretty impressive the way you can link some of the low end and high end Behringer/Midas gear. However, to the defense of A&H you can do this (at least to varying extent) with even the low end QU and mid range SQ. CQ is just not designed to support this use case and price point. Keep in mind the WING is a $3,000 plus board versus a sub $1,400 board as the case with CQ.
