    Hi everyone, my first post here on the forum – and I’d like to say that I (and my band) are VERY happy with our recent upgrade from a Yamaha MG10XU to the CQ-18T.

    That being said, we’ve experienced one clear-n-present danger… Occasionally, with no indication as to when or why, multi-track recording to an SD card will simply drop-out a few seconds of recording.

    When this happens, there is no “dead air” or blank space in the tracks. Rather, the missing few seconds of audio are simply GONE and the recording “instantly jumps” a few seconds forward in the performance.

    Rather obviously, this is NOT good as one never knows when it will happen and its screwing up our demos and videos – even though it is admittedly, very infrequent.

    Yes, I’m using a lighting fast and large SD card, and re-formatting (in the unit) before each recording session.

    Has anyone else experienced this very odd issue ???

    @3ManCult

    You mention you’re using a ‘lightning fast and large SD card’, please ensure this meets the spec for the CQ which is SDHC 32GB, Class 10, UHS I
    Make a short recording and use the buffer meters to see how well the card is actually performing.
    Some ‘faster’ cards (e.g. UHS III) can actually be slower when used with hardware that doesn’t support them.

    Thanks,

    @KeithJ A&H

    Thank you for taking time to reply Keith.

    I will double check my cards to be sure they’re within spec (which I was aware of, just thought bigger/faster cards would be better, even with 32g limit on FAT.)

    Also, I really appreciate all the videos and podcasts YOU have appeared on. I’ve learned a lot and you do a masterful job representing the A&H product lines and brand.

    The CQ-18T is an excellent piece of hardware, and exactly what I’ve been looking for / waiting for a LONG time.

    Once I eliminate this drop-out thing, I’m golden 🙂

    Ps. The internal FX are pretty good but rather limited options. It sure would be cool to get more FX or support 3rd party plug-ins. JM2C 🙂
