Avantis Director crashed during overwrite

So I made quite a few changes to my first play-around show/template and while overwriting the existing one,
Director crashed>
When I restarted Director and wanted to recall the session, it recalled a much older version (could be last successful save).
It’s not a huge deal today, as it’s just my first day messing about (weeks before purchase/delivery) but it could be huge deal another day.

The question is: Does Director and/or Avantis store automatic backups somewhere?
Is there a setting somewhere to turn on automatic backups and adjust their interval?

This has happened again, also during an overwrite. Any tips?
I’m going to try a save as as a workaround.
