AR2412 24/8
I see this uses a proprietary D-Snake protocol.
What I am looking for is a direct connect to a computer like a virtual Dante I/O box.
I would like to use a box like the AR2412 for recording via Cat6 to a software DAW…Nuendo or Reaper and
utilize all the monitoring available on the outputs.
These outputs would also go to an analog summing mixer box.
Does A&H make anything that could work in this fashion
and at this price point?
Thanks!2016/03/17 at 11:12 pm #54629

You dont half want much from one device?
These are 2 different mixer scenarios !?
A QU32 GLD will do your recording for you [at this price point]
A GSR will sum that data for you or ZED-R16 will sum that data for you as well[at this price point] [not the GSR]
And, a MAC will connect to them all digitally.
When you find one mixer device that will do this, please… let us all know.Good luck.

AnonymousYes just use a QU & AR24/12 AR24 box.
They are brilliant
For recording I would recommend the QU32 aso you have extra faders to doextra things with in mix down. [efx and subroups etc…]
And you can also buy an ANOLOGE summing box ‘mixer box’later and use the outputs from either ther QU or the AR24/12 outputs.
Off course you can sum in digital either in the QU or ‘ITB’ [in the box] and use analoge plugins in your Reaper software.
iK multiumedia make some good legal plugins.
And then just use your QU for moving faders etc.. [hands on feel]
Lots of different ways to record and mix.
So if you can…. just try to get that extra large mixer from the start QU322016/03/18 at 8:48 pm #54645Thanks guys,
I’m admittedly stretching the application of these products
but I’m also looking to see if there is a price/performance advantage in doing so.
“” a 2412 and a QuPAC will do this. “”
I thought of that but can I stream stream 32 to the computer?
and 16 out of the computer through USB? (USB2 I believe)I can do this with a Yamaha Rio 3224-D (Dante) and Dante Virtual Soundcard software and a standard computer Ethernet connection but the cost of entry is about $9,000.00.
I was wondering if there was anything in the A&H lineup (which I am a fan of) that would do this?
Thanks,
Jay2016/03/18 at 8:52 pm #54646Thanks NZDave…..
So if you canā¦. just try to get that extra large mixer from the start QU32
At the end of my research that might well be the best approach!
2016/03/19 at 3:34 pm #54656Yes, the QuPAC is the same as a 32, but with less built in audio interface, and fewer controls…
