Does the SQ5 support the AR2412 and AR84 at same Time?
2017/12/14 at 1:09 pm #66891Alex A&HKeymasterHi!
The use of multiple units is not currently supported in firmware version 1.0.1, nor is connecting the AR84 directly to the SLink port at the moment. However they will be supported in version 1.1.0 which will be out soon!
Thanks
Alex

And… Have you got a 96kHz version of AR2412 planned in future or only DX168 is available ?Thanks
2017/12/20 at 10:53 am #67060Alex A&HKeymasterHi Flo84,
There is no plan for a 96kHz version of the AR2412 at the moment, however support for the DX32 rack is on the way and will allow 24 inputs and 8 outputs.
Thanks!

2017/12/20 at 4:48 pm #67063Mfk0815ParticipantHi Alex,
I have now installed V1.1 on my SQ-6. I have connected my AR2412 to the SQ-6 and the I have connected a AB168 to the AR2412 as an expander.
So Connections are SQ-6(SLink)<->AR2412(dSNAKEe) and AR2412(-Expander)<->AB168(dSNAKE)
This is the same as when i use the GLD80 instead of the SQ-6. but whilest the GLD will treat this Stagebox combination as an 40in/20out Box, on the SQ-6 I can only use the first 32 ins and, that is odd, 20 outs. so it seems that the AB168 is treated as an 8in/8out box.
Am I doing something wrong?BTW: I never had an issue with the first 32 inputs, also not with V1.0.1. Hmmm.
Regards

In the I/O screen, select the SLink tab to view channels 1-32, if you press the tab again it displays channels 33-64. dSnake will still only go up to 40 input channels, but the remaining 8 channels will be highlighted and the later channels greyed out.
Many thanks
Alex

Ah great. A hidden gem;-) As soon as I am possible today I will double check it. Because I want to use the SQ the next days, but I have to deal with more than the 32 Channels which I saw on the surface.
2017/12/23 at 6:40 pm #67108Mfk0815ParticipantHi again Alex,
Onece somebody points you in the right direction you can see everything. Now I also understand the four little bars below SLink and I/O Port. And yes, you are right, the routing works now with the AR2412 and Ab168. Fine.Thank you and all your colleagues and Merry Christmas to all of you
Klaus2018/03/31 at 7:43 am #69988YannParticipantSo SQ5 can definately be used with AR2412? Im confused because I’m being told both yes and no from different distributors!
2018/03/31 at 9:54 am #69994ArtParticipantYes. It definitely can be used.
2019/02/08 at 9:37 am #81823AnonymousInactiveHello!
Can I daisy chain two AR2412? And after that to connect them to an SQ5?
SQ5 <-> AR2412 <- AR2412
Thanks!
2019/02/08 at 9:46 am #81824AnonymousInactiveI had a more in depth look on the GLD posts. I understand that AR2412 cannot be daisy chained. It can be expanded only with AR84.
But AR2412 can be daisy cahined with the AB168. My question is now if I can use the following setup:
SQ5 <-> AR2412 <-> AB168
Would this be possible? Would the SQ5 see all 40 inputs and 20 outputs?
2019/02/08 at 12:15 pm #81827MarkPAmanParticipantYes.
See here:
https://www.allen-heath.com/media/SQ5_SLinkConnections_V1_1_0.pdfYou’ll end up with:
Total Input Sources: 63
Total Output Sockets: 34
Local Input Sources Mic/Line: 16 + 1 Line: 6
Remote Inputs Mic/Line: 40
Local Output Sockets XLR + TRS: 12 + 2
Remote Output Sockets XLR: 20
