    I was just thinking that it might be neat to have another EQ section right after the preamp that lets you pick what model of mic it is and how close its being held to compensate for non-flat mic and the proximity effect. Then the regular EQ would be free to let you make “artistic tonal choices”.

    Dunno if there’s enough room in the processor to do it, so I haven’t thought much about who would supply the curves, or how one might load their own if using an obscure mic.

    Have you tried using a DYN8 on insert A? It might work well for you in this application. We do this some when we don’t route a channel also through Waves Super Rack.
