GLD-80 feature requests (shout if there there an I’ve just not found them, new user..):

Graphic EQ on faders: Option to move the “focus” of the faders left/right via the touch screen, rather than flipping between hi/low.

DCA screen on the touch screen so I don’t have to have DCA’s assigned to the surface strips (and can still access level and mute’s).

    Mute groups?

Option for LED metering to dim on the “channel strip” (top left section, all the knob’s, gain, eq etc) when a function is not “In” and become brighter when turned on.

    GLD remote:
Save the last 3 – 5 ip addresses so I don’t have to type it in each time…

Option to turn off the metering in the iPad app (I’m assuming that will help in poor bandwidth situations).

    Cheers,

The intention is that you use a DCA. There is an option on the DCA to lock its level to Unity. You then just assign that DCA’s mute to a soft key and you don’t need to expose it on a surface channel.

That’s kind of what I figured as I was writing, but to me, if you can’t access the DCA’s via the touch screen then I’d want them as channel strips, which is a bit of a waste if it’s just for mutes..

    (I’m assuming I haven’t misses a touch screen page for the DCA’s)

    Cheers,

    Matt

You don’t have to put the DCAs on a strip. The mute will work even if you don’t put the DCA anywhere. You can also gang channels, set them the way you want them then unassign one of the faders so you don’t use up you 80 faders as fast. Think stereo mic channel one one fader.

I appreciate that, but something like a DCA thats controlling other channels I’d really want to be able to access/see, perhaps I’m a little paranoid, without having to re-assign to a physical channel to get to.
