Regarding the GLD-80 is it possible to use the aviom out
on the ar2412 as a split snake for other digital mixers.

If not what would be some recommendation on a cheap easy
    split snake for the GLD-80?

    Use Dante.

M-DANTE option card in the back of the GLD means that you can then send/receive 32ch over a Dante network which could consist of multiple devices such as another mixer (e.g. another GLD or anything else that supports Dante) or a DAW for multitrack recording.

would the Allen and Heath M-ACE-A work the same
    was as the Dante?

It seems to be much cheaper and sounds like it does
    the same thing.

    M-DANTE is 64 channels i/o

And will also allow recording with a laptop and software only, and 3rd party interfaces too.

Sure, you can also use ACE card, but it’ll give you only point to point connection to another A&H mixing console. Dante is more flexible option.
