I know this has been mentioned before but…
Can someone explain to me why on two different
shows I have recorded empty wave files.
There is nothing in the manual or the help files
about routing for the purposes of recording.
    I don’t get it….

    Hi Mike,
The source to the USB recording is assigned using the ‘I/O’ screen ‘Surface’ tab. You assign this in the same way as assigning the output sockets. In the GLD Template Shows, Matrix 1 is assigned as default. The Matrix 1 master is on fader strip Bank 2 Layer D and is labelled ‘Rec’. Raise the fader to send signal to the recording.
    Regards,
    Carey

Adding a meter on the USB record screen would also be great, so you know when the signal is routed correctly to the USB and recording. You basically have to record a bit, play it back to make sure it is all correct and then record.

meter would solve this, to know routing is correct.

I don’t believe there’s any recording capability on the iLive.

Meters would be handy, but you can check that you are sending signal to the flash drive by (p)AFL’ing the mix you have set the USB record to source it’s signal from (I/O, Surface) . It doesn’t check that it’s actually being recorded but if Matrix 1 has signal and the USB is set to record from Matrix 1 …

My main issue is with having to mentally subtract 18 from all the meters. Getting good at it though. [;)]
