    Hi Lody,

RDNet is an RCF proprietary protocol. Although it can use RJ45 connectors, it is based on RS-485, which is not compatible with Ethernet devices, so the simple answer is no.

However, if you have an RDNet Control8 device on stage, this provides an Ethernet port for remote control. You can tunnel this port over the ACE connection in order to operate RDNet from FOH, as long as it doesn’t exceed the available bandwidth (roughly 10Mbit/s).

    Hope this helps

    Hi Lody

Looking at the RCF website, they do not state how much bandwidth their protocol might use. The surface ACE link has around 10 megabit/second of ‘tunnelling’ bandwidth in each direction, and the surface itself might use around 2 megabit/second of this. The best thing to do would be to contact RCF (or perhaps they have a forum), and find out how much bandwidth their protcol might use for the number of devices you have. If this is less than 5-6 megabit/second, you should be good to go.

    Cheers
