    Hello everybody,

I tried to search for something similar but I didn’t find anything similar:
Is there a way to import shows or scenes previously “recorded” on a Yamaha MC7L?

I’m starting working on a new play and the old performance was done by using a yamaha device… I’m trying to not redo all the job…

    Thanks

This brings up an interesting point I hadn’t considered. Would there be a market need for such a program? Wouldn’t happen on the timeframe you need though.

hey dburris if you are a developer count me in as “betaslave” – but if you you go down this alley (create a converter)
you must consider both ways – or call me crazy – all ways (ilive to yamaha to digico to whatsoever and vice versa)

    cheers

I think it’s an interesting concept. Hard to find the time these days though. I have the iLive and limited access to MC7L and LS9, but not the Soundcraft or Aivd/Digico. I haven’t even explored the programmer reference for all these to determine the difficulty factor.

This raises the question. Has A&H published a reference for the scene and show file storage format? Is it XML-based or other easily parsable format or proprietary format? My apologies if this is already pblic and I have not seen it.

    Pretty sure it is XML
Too few of a demand to warrant AH spending any time on this.
If it is up to me, let them spend programming and r&d on better ilive features and updates.

you are right…but having a converter would be really handy,
anyway there are (a least in switzerland) tons of yamahas standing around – too as we`re a country of rich farts (visit switzerland your money is already here) as well digico and avid consoles – i could supply easily shows – of all these brands.

    cheers

Too be honest, If you would Import an M7cl show into an ilive It would sound horrible!
The Ilive system is much mre evolved Gain structure is different etc etc.

A converter would simply make no sense.

For a test copy the channel parameters of an M7CL to an Ilive and listen to the differnce.
No chance it sounds the same!

It makes no sense to copy from M7CL it has absolutely different gain pre amp structure, and i am not sure but Yamaha scenes are MIDI sysex based ?
