Couldn’t get it working once i upgraded to Lion.
I could only select “online surface and mix rack” No other options available for mix rack only or offline editor session.GW

I hope you have a fall-back position on this! I never try out a new OS without either having a test machine, or having waited for a few weeks for the initial release bugs to be sorted out.
Apple stopped giving a sh*t about professional users a long time ago, and I don’t trust their new OSs anymore, until they’ve been tested and de-bugged for a few weeks or months. I made this mistake once, and regretted it!
But please let us know how it goes!
Cheers!

have you tried to just reinstall it? I suppose you did but you didn’t mentioned it.

2011/07/21 at 1:11 pm #28821AnonymousInactiveGlad i can be of help!
OSX Lion lasted 3hours until i went back to using SnowLeapord.
iLive editor wouldn’t work at all.
I also use Microsoft Office 2004 for mac (old i know but it works) This also wouldnt work because “PowerPC based apps” are not supported in Lion.I had a massive problem installing OSX Lion, Here’s something it doesnt tell you before you buy it. If you use Bootcamp and have a 2nd partition for either Windows or Linux etc you HAVE TO DELETE THIS PARTITION. You cannot install Lion without removing it. (of course you can then re-run bootcamp assistant after the Lion install and re-partition but what a pain)
One thing i really really liked about Lion was it gave my HD more free space than Snow Leapord. The new interface in Mail is awesome….. sadly these slight features are not enough to make me put up with the stress of upgrading a whole host of my apps and digging out my serial numbers etc.
Word of advice if you are thinking of downloading Lion: After downloading the 3.6gb file, (but before instaling it) save it to a DVD cos after install it removes itself from your computer and the only way to get another copy is to re-download the huge 3.6gb file!
2011/07/21 at 4:20 pm #28822AnonymousInactiveThanks for the heads-up! Seems like it really is an upgrade to think about, if ‘old’ Power PC-based apps won’t run.
2011/07/25 at 12:41 pm #28843abstractnoiseParticipantYup – chalk me up on Lion incompatibility. Same symptom, but both Lion and iLive software were installed from scratch, so I shouldn’t have inherited any incompatibilities from a previous install. I’m evaluating Lion presently to see what the issues are, and this is the only one I’ve come across so far that would stop me working in some projects.
Any ideas on a fix date?
Also, worth knowing that because PPC code is no longer supported in Lion, that means a lot of old/abandoned AU or VST plugins for workstations/virtual synths won’t work properly either. Not sure how much it affects “pro” users, but it certainly has curtailed my freeware music-making tools!
Otherwise really enjoying Lion – seems to generally be faster and the UI enhancements (now I’ve embraced them) are letting me get work done more quickly, especially where multiple windows/programs are involved.
