I was sitting in a seperate room for mixing a theater show last friday.

I guess it’s there but I have no idea where I can change the volume for my local monitor out on the R-72…

Can you assign it a different matrix send (identical to your main mix)?

    Dante card (soon!)

The matrix was that what I used, but it would be better to have PFL as well on the same outputs. If I use a matrix this isn’t the case.

Ah, tricky – I’ll have to defer to someone who uses a console in that case ;)

You could try using the stereo PAFL wedge outputs. If you assign wedge L and R out of the R72 outputs, then you can assign the wedge channel onto the surface and use it as a volume control.

Using the Wedge Outputs wasn’t an option in this special case, because there was no possibility for reconfiguring the desk to turn processing on wedge on.
Without processing the wedge out didn’t contain the Main signal as expected.

Maybe David, Carey or Rob can give me a hint… :-)

In the PAFL setup screen you can set levels for the main mix to PAFL. This affects the level when no PAFL buttons are selected. That may do what you’re asking for if you want the main mix all the time. It wouldn’t be quickly adjustable as you set the level for each output separately. The inf. settings turns them off. Otherwise you may have to assign a fader/s for wedge monitors as suggested. Page 13 in the PDF getting started guide.

P.S. There’s always the level knob on the amp powering your monitors. [;)]

    Genelec 8020 over 1,5m away… to difficult

I assigned the wedge fader but there was no Left/Right signal only PFL.
Should I activate the processing in the Wedges to have the main always present?

That is the only thing I hadn’t done so far.

No, you shouldn’t need to activate processing to have mains present when nothing is PAFL’d.

Are you sure you’ve got the mains configured to go to PAFL? You’ll find these options in the PAFL menu. And just ensure mains isn’t muted/DCA muted.

The wedge fader changes not the volume of the local monitor output. So I can’t see any chance to change the volume on that?

You can set up the Pre Fader Listening to After Fader Listening with just 1 click, there are 2 buttons left next to the “mains” faders. then, when you have After Fader Listening in your PAFL, you will hear the sound after the fader. :)

    Nobody is listening to me…
My Surface is not T-112, or T-80 it’s R-72 and it has different buttons and it misses the local monitor volume poti.
    That is the problem.
