    trying to install latest Firmware (1.8) and the surface is finding everything ok from the USB key, but the “Update Firmware” button on the touchscreen is not high-lighting (allowing me to update). I did this process a few months ago with 1.7 and had no issues…

    Are you sure you have the unzipped firmware folder in the root of the USB key? Macs require the zipped file in the root where PCs and the surface require the unzipped file.

    I got it to go…needed to update to 1.72 before…seems i missed that little tidbit
