Hi, i have asked before but is there a chance that DCA population and POP groups could be implemented in the ilive? I suggest maximum 8 channels being populated to be compatible with all the surfaces. Just imagine ( T112 ) : middle bank DCA, when you select a DCA the left bank automatically only shows the populated channels for that DCA. SO you don’t have to remember where all the channels are throughout the 4 layers.
An example DCA1: drum, DCA2 toms, DCA3 bas,DCA4 git, DCA5 key, DCA6 horn etc.
You press DCA1 and you got the kick1,2,snare Top/bottom, hi-hat.
You press DCA6 and you get all the horn channels. When no DCA is selected the normal layout is available.
POP groups could be assigned to the soft keysMaybe in version 1.9
In the mean time i’ll keep on dreaming and browsing thru layers[]

You can do this right now!
Make a few scene’s (only store strip layout in these scene’s)
Use the softkeys to recal these scene’s
and voila you have youre POP groups!
(make sure you have a scene programmed with your usual layout!)2010/12/21 at 11:53 am #26947Lieven-DewispelaereParticipantMartijn,
Thanks, didn’t think of that.Only a pitty there are not more softkeys. I suppose i could use a PL . So that leaves me with the DCA Population.Lieven

It really limits how many you DCA you could do that with. It would still be nice to have this without using up all my soft keys. There are also more that 8 DCA so what soft keys would you use for DCA 9,10,11 etc. If we had this available there would never be hunting for a channel on a bottom level just punch the DCA mix and bam there is everything right there. So much more elegant than using the soft keys I think.

Not to mention a pain in the arse to change mid show

Recal pop> change layout? update scene
You loose your softkeys yes
But easy and cheap to solve with a pl (adding 16 softkeys)
You can even program 2 softkeys to toggle the scenes.Me i personally think pop groups are higly over rated.
i don’t think you want to have your layout changing all the time.
if you make a good layout everything is were you need it.but i can imagine engineers will like it[]
