ok, so i don’t know if anyone has been burnt by these before, but we just did….rather bad!
anyway, if there is anyway of having a nice little reminder in the status bar that this function is ON would be great! that way there will be no very very bad embarrassing mistakes by guest engineers…
i know its an easy thing to say, óh you should check this’d yes you should, but if you don’t know to look for it then well….
also on the R72 (which is where this error happened) as the buttons are in a really bad location and way to close to the faders…2010/08/07 at 6:35 am #26077StixParticipantYeah an indication that the buttons are active would be good but I also think that unless you are working with lots of scenes (Theatre etc) then you are best to turn them off. I haven’t had a problem with them being accidentally pushed but I can see that it would be easy to happen. An elbow lean in the wrong place or some drunk bozo who comes to talk to you and uses the corner as bar leaner!

2010/08/08 at 12:09 am #26079StixParticipantThee buttons – up/ down buttons select memory scenes, Go button recalls the selected scene.

2010/08/08 at 5:54 am #26081frozenwafflesParticipantwhen you push Go! the scene is recalled…and the sound goes!

We will tkae your thoughts into account.
Safe option to go to surface setup – surface preferences – There is a button that will enable/disable the Surface scene buttons so that you cannot accidentally recall a scene. You then need to go to the scene page or setup a soft key to recall a seen.
Hope this helps.

2010/08/10 at 4:42 am #26089jheimbergParticipantWe thought about rigging a little clear plastic box over the buttons with a gaff tape flap so you can flip it open. We need the next/go buttons active, but don’t want to bump them…
2010/08/10 at 1:22 pm #26094frozenwafflesParticipantthats a wicked idea! i think i’ll actually screw that into the surface!

we used to have that on our midas xl4 “previous and next” memory buttons!! it works….on some other consoles, we used a clear cd sleeve so as to fit over the buttons and not on them……for the R72 you would need something like a MD jewel case or similar size……https://www.minidiscaccess.com/fc101.html would do the trick……
