I’m mixing an indoor pink floyd tribute show in march.
We are putting in a surround system.

I want the flexibility to be able to send anything to the surround speakers quickly and in varying volumes.

What do people think about the best way of setting it up.

I was thinking of maybe a stereo Aux or group feeding into a stereo matrix (which would allow me to blend in some of FOH if needed).

Or maybe it would be better to use a stereo aux or group feeding into two mono matrix sends. That would make it easier to do level changes but it would mean i would lose the ping pong effects on delays.

So then I thought about maybe setting up 4 stereo groups and 4 mono groups and feeding these into a stereo matrix which would then allow me to mix different instruments up and down and left to right in the surrounds.

    Any other cool suggestions?

    Cheers
    Toby
