I’m considering getting the ZED12FX. I do karaoke and individual singing gigs. My questions is why is there only a 2 Band EQ on the Stereo in. Most have at least 3. Seems like this would dictate for you to have to do more EQ-ing from the computer. I must be missing something. Have heard good reviews on A&H but this one issue has me stumped.
Thanks,
Kelly

Unfortunately, I don’t know what other answer someone could give other than that Allen & Heath developed it and brought it to market that way.
There’s also nothing you can change it.
If you need more extensive sound control, you’ll have to look for a mixer like this.
Or, if necessary, use two mono inputs.
Thank you for you answer. Guess I’ll just have to wait for my answer before I buy. I run stereo out my USB connection on my laptop to a Schitt Bifrost 2/64 then back to my mixer by xlr-1/4″ jacks and run stereo. My mixer has a 3 band eq on the stereo channel. Wanting to figure out how I can do this on the ZED.
Again, thanks.
Kelly
Hi Kelly,
Unlike many mono sources, such as microphones or acoustic instruments, most stereo line level sources, including keyboards or other electronic instruments and backing tracks (as with karaoke like you mention) have already been mixed/produced/EQ’d and should not require much, if any, corrective EQ.
This is why on many of our analogue desks, a simple 2-band EQ is provided for stereo channels.
As SQuser suggests, if you do require more EQ, this can be easily achieved by using two (panned) mono channels.
Thanks,
Keith.
