Our keyboarder also has editor installed to tweak his iem’s on his own. But he should not play with the rest :)
So optimum solution would be, just give him the rights on the IEMs and its mix.
Probably this is possible with some kind of different connection from editor, which just loads this special channels and IEM channel set as default mix.

I agree – building a custom strip is one thing, but you only have to have the player accidentally hit a mix button in the middle of the gig & all of a sudden they’re mixing front of house (and in wild and exaggerated ways because they’re not hearing the changes they thought they would in their monitor!). A custom login with specific access rights sounds like a great idea.
