    Hi,

I have two Aviom AN-16/i-M modules – connected in expansion mode this gives 32 channels into the Aviom stream. I don’t know if they get encoded in a different way or whatever but might it be possible in an update to access channels 17-32? The manual says not to plug an A-16II mixer into this stream though…

As it happens you can read channels 1-16 (the first module) from the output of the second module so I’m hoping it might be a ‘simple’ thing to add?

    Many thanks, Alan.

    Hi Alan

The 32 channel mode of the A-16 series works by putting one set of 16 channels on one twisted pair in the Cat5 cable, and the other set of 16 on a different pair. The ME-1 and the A-16II both use an ordinary Ethernet interface chip to access the audio, and these chips can only receive from one of the pairs on the cable. It is therefore not possible for these devices to receive both of the 16-channel streams.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Jeff, a perfect answer. Pity though!

    Alan.
